Is only a matter of gender?

What are the benefits for a man to be a midwife, what are the drawbacks?

In men the work like midwife is very important because this way is internalized with the problems facing a woman, from her point of view and thus can understand everything them, by getting in and place of women and seeing all the man differences processes by which they pass.
I think that the inconvenient is in that many women do not like to be treated by a man, because he feels uncomfortable and unreliable.

Do you think gender issues also affect other health professionals?

I think the problem mainly affects gender in the case of midwives, since it is centralized in women, whereas in the other area of health professional attentions are widespread.

What do you think you can do to reduce gender problems in your career?

I think that must be shown that both men and women have the same abilities to do the work of midwives. I have heard cases where women feel much more comfortable temple attended by a man by a woman because they say that man is more delicate to treat them, because he does not experience pain or sensations felt by the woman.

Do you know or think gender issues among health workers are similar in other countries?
I do not know, but I think it depends on exactly where we are talking, and sociocultural aspects of each site, but overall I think it does not occur as well as in Chile.

  1. Hi Cote ! well ...In the third paragraph I think you should write "because the women feel uncomfortable and unreliable with the man midwife" and in the third question is
" because them does not experience pain or sensations felt by the woman"
